Cooking Classes & Community Events
Teaching has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my culinary journey. Throughout the years, I've had the opportunity to lead hands-on cooking classes, family workshops, and community events across South Florida, helping home cooks build confidence while exploring flavors from around the world.
Although I am not currently offering public or private cooking classes, this page serves as a collection of those experiences. Each class represents an opportunity to connect with the community, share culinary knowledge, and celebrate the joy of cooking together.

Why I Love Teaching
Long before I became a full-time recipe developer, I discovered that my greatest passion wasn't simply creating great food; it was helping others feel confident enough to create it themselves.
Whether teaching families how to prepare a meal together, introducing someone to an ingredient they've never tried before, or explaining the science behind a cooking technique, I believe every lesson has the power to make cooking more approachable. My background as both a professional chef and educator has taught me that the best learning happens when people feel encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and enjoy the process.
Today, I continue that mission through Just Maika Cooking by creating recipes, tutorials, food safety guides, and culinary resources that help home cooks continue learning long after the class has ended.

More Than a Cooking Class
Every cooking class has been an opportunity to bring people together through food, curiosity, and shared experiences. Whether participants were learning a new technique, exploring an unfamiliar ingredient, or preparing a dish inspired by another culture, my goal was always to create a welcoming environment where everyone felt comfortable asking questions, trying something new, and enjoying the process.
I believe cooking is one of the most valuable life skills we can develop. It builds confidence, encourages creativity, strengthens cultural appreciation, and creates meaningful moments around the table. While each class featured different recipes and themes, they all shared the same purpose: helping people leave with new knowledge, practical skills, and the inspiration to continue cooking long after the class was over.
Although I am not currently teaching public classes, that passion for culinary education continues through Just Maika Cooking. Every recipe, tutorial, food safety guide, and cooking technique I share is created with the same goal of helping home cooks grow their skills and enjoy the journey of learning in the kitchen.
